“Welbeck A Bargain For £16 Million”

“Welbeck A Bargain For £16 Million”

The 23-year-old Danny Welbeck signed for the Gunners on transfer deadline day in a shock £16 million deal from Manchester United. He has already helped justify part of that investment by scoring four goals in his last three games, including a superb hat-trick against Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Dwight Yorke has a strong opinion on the transfer and believes £16 million is a disgrace for Welbeck. He claimed that the striker should have been valued at a much higher price, especially considering the big money splashed out on the likes of Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana.

According to Manchester Evening News, he said, “£16m – that’s a disgrace. When Lallana and Shaw have gone for £25m and £27m, that’s pathetic. That’s why I cannot understand the market. He had to be a loan deal – especially with Falcao not signing permanently.”

“You could let Danny Welbeck go on a year’s loan, get some money and have that option. He’s worth more than £16m in today’s market. Shaw and Lallana – they’re worth that much more than Danny Welbeck? I don’t think so. Not with his pace and power.”

He also claimed that Wenger has got a bargain by saying, “Arsene Wenger cannot believe it. Welbeck doesn’t get as much credit as he should. Arsene Wenger will realise that he’s got a bargain. His power – unbelievable. Pace, strength. And he will get better.”
