Arsenal are interested in signing Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham, according to the Daily Telegraph‘s Matt Law:
Arsenal interested in Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, who has already been touted to Dortmund, Inter Milan and Tottenham. Wonder why…?! #afc #cfc https://t.co/bPhk8yxCce

The journalist is usually very reliable when it comes to transfer stories so it seems likely that the Gunners are genuinely interested in snapping up the 23-year-old.
Supporters on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the news, with some believing Abraham isn’t an upgrade on what they already have in the first-team squad:
Welbeck 2.0 imo.

Lets bring players that we really need

But Tammy was banging in goals before his drought, he’s a young striker just like what Lukaku was doing at his 23 years old. Our Auba went dry too

It is not worth it. Stick to Nketiah and/Folarin instead

Tammy is young & in the right system can be far more of a goal threat than Laca is! Laca is one dimensional and every team/player knows exactly what he’ll do – hold it up with back to goal twist turn, fall, or pass back – allow it! Tammy and the youngers will bring something new!

Abraham’s reported price tag is £40m, which is pretty steep, considering Arsenal are not in desperate need of a striker. Things may change in the coming weeks, though.
Both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah have less than a year left on their contracts at the Emirates and if either one or both depart, it could leave manager Mikel Arteta short of options up front.
Folarin Balogun and Gabriel Martinelli are young players so it could be argued it would be asking too much of them to provide cover for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but whether Abraham is the solution, it is an open question.
