“We Will See What Happens” 34M Rated Serie A Star Offers Update On Potential Arsenal Switch

Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli has remained tightlipped on his future plans, despite being heavily linked with both Arsenal and Juventus this summer.

Reports in Italy have suggested that the 23-year-old favours a move to Juve but the Italian steered clear of saying he is angling for a switch to Turin:

“I haven’t really thought about my next club so far, I was focused on the national team. From tomorrow [Monday] we will see what happens. I support Juventus? Right now we are here for the national team, so I support Italy.”

It does seem as though the Gunners have very little chance of snapping up Locatelli, despite making a significant effort to secure his services. It is believed the London club were prepared to pay €40m (£34m) upfront for the midfielder while Juventus are struggling to come up with the funds.

The Serie A side are now said to be prepared to pay €30m plus one player, but that is still somewhat short of what Sassuolo are asking for. A switch to Emirates appears to be a remote possibility but we should find out more about his future by the end of the week.
