“We Will Do What Is Necessary” Agent Confirms Arsenal’s Interest In Spaniard Who Could Hand In Transfer Request

Arsenal are interested in signing Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, the Spaniard’s agent has confirmed to Catalan newspaper Sport.

The Gunners are believed to have already made an approach for the 24-year-old, which has been knocked back by the Bees. However, the shot-stopper is determined to make the switch to the Emirates, and his representative Jaume Monell said the player may even consider handing in a transfer request to force through a move:

“We will do what is necessary.”

With Aston Villa looking to sign Emi Martinez, Arsenal are very keen to find a new backup keeper for Bernd Leno and, with goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana having worked with Raya at Brentford, it seems manager Mikel Arteta has identified his number one target.

It remains to be seen whether a transfer fee will be worked out but it does appear like the player himself has his heart set on a move to the Gunners before the transfer window closes next month.
