Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney missed the 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace yesterday evening with what manager Mikel Arteta described as a muscular injury.
The former Celtic player has been superb during the Gunners’ recent run of good form and his absence last night coincided with a flat performance from the team. Supporters on Twitter don’t think it was a coincidence:
Seriously we missed him

He’s our most vital and creative player atm and that says a lot as he’s a left back serious stuff has to happen in this transfer window

I swear. This guys presence in the squad is a big morale boost.

Do we really have any replacement for him? Kolasinac is gone.. so are we signing any replacement.. is rekik d replacement.. obviously AMN cannot do d work. We were managing in some wings when d window is still open.. auba need to be coming from d bench to get himself back.

A club is doomed if it rely only on the left back to create goals.

I kept on shouting where’s KT.

Cant rely on him every game….same with Martinelli just shows we need more than just a creative midfielder imo

Apparently he has been single handedly winning us matches… And I mean that literally

Without him— no win

It remains to be seen how long Tierney will be out for. Arteta has confirmed that the 23-year-old will undergo a scan today but he didn’t want to put a timeframe on the defender’s potential return, which will undoubtedly concern fans.
From what Arteta said about the injury after the game, though, it does seem unlikely that he’ll be available when they play Newcastle on Monday evening. The fullback has had his injury problems since arriving in the summer of 2019 but he has barely missed a game so far this season.
