‘We Don’t Want Him’ ‘Doesn’t Suit Our Style Of Play At All’ Arsenal Fans Disagree With Lee Dixon Over Potential Aubameyang Replacement

Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has called on his former club to make a move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Dixon feels that the Gunners have to be realistic in terms of their targets and he believes that Calvert-Lewin is the best forward out there they could hope to sign:

“Would I like to see Calvert-Lewin at Arsenal? I think yes I think you’d struggle to get one of the top, top strikers like [Erling] Haaland. It would be a step up for Calvert-Lewin, no disrespect to Everton. I like him, I think he’s got potential to be as good as he wants to be. He is fit and athletic, he is strong and good in the air and a good finisher. I would take him.”

The majority of supporters on Twitter seem to disagree with Dixon’s assessment that Calvert-Lewin would be a good fit for Mikel Arteta’s side:

The England international has spent the majority of this season out injured so it isn’t surprising that some are sceptical about a move for the player.

Even so, Calvert-Lewin scored 21 goals in all competitions for Everton last campaign so his ability should not be dismissed so readily by fans. He may not be as glamorous a signing as someone like Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic but, as Dixon says, the 24-year-old would likely be interested in a switch to the Emirates.
