WATCH: Emery Is Adamant That Arsenal Didn’t Deserve To Lose Against Sheffield United

Arsenal manager Unai Emery says his side didn’t deserve to lose against Sheffield United last night. The Gunners conceded from a corner in the first half but were unable to get back into the match.

In his post-match interview, Emery felt that the Blades’ excellent defensive record made it hard for his team to break them down and that the miss from Nicolas Pepe when the score was 0-0 was important:

Emery’s words are unlikely to go down well with Arsenal fans. Although the away side certainly dominated possession, they rarely threatened Dean Henderson’s goal in the second half despite the number of offensive players they had on the pitch.

There’s no doubt that Pepe did miss a clear-cut chance but you have to create more if you want to get points from a well-drilled opponent. Chris Wilder’s team stuck to their game plan and Emery failed to come up with the answers to unlock their defence.
