Walcott Thinks Arsenal Are Great With Or Without Suarez

Theo Walcott has welcomed the prospect of being joined by Luis Suarez from Liverpool, after the Uruguayan has been trying his best to force a move away from Anfield looking for UEFA Champions League football on a consistent basis.

The transfer saga involving Suarez has not been getting any better for the Reds, as the striker has been reiterating his desire to move on on various occasions using different means, stating as much as promises made by the club to let him leave if they were to miss out on a spot in Europe. Any club involved at the highest level would not want to play a striker who does not want to play, and even though the treatment for Suarez will be no different, he is and will remain an integral part of the team. Brendan Rodgers has made a signing in Iago Aspas this summer, and the Spanish striker has been showing impressive form in pre-season, but doubts remain whether he will be able to take the responsibility of the main striker if Suarez leaves. Daniel Sturridge has proved to be a massive signing for Rodgers, and showed last season why the manager wanted to sign him.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have the need of a striker themselves although Theo Walcott has stepped up to the mark and impressed by helping to take up the responsibility of the main striker. Lukas Podolski has also been chipping in with contributions, as the whole squad helps Olivier Giroud settle down into life in the Barclays Premier League. The Frenchman, who was signed from Montpellier, has not shown consistent form yet but hopefully for Wenger, Giroud uses the year’s experience and improves performances in all competitions.

According to ESPN, Walcott has welcomed Suarez’s link, but remains confident in the spirit of the squad, which was shown by the last 10 matches of last season.

Walcott said, “If he (Suarez) comes, great. Even if we stay as we are now, we are a great team and we showed that in the last 10 games last season. We just need to do that a bit more on a consistent level at the start of this year but every player who is at Arsenal is a top-class player.”

“You’re not going to get an average player come to Arsenal, I think that every player that is here is a top-class player. The boss has believed in so many players he has brought in and they have done so well.”
