Walcott Believes In Arsenal, Thinks They Just Need A Good Start And Can Win Anything

Arsenal striker Theo Walcott has made an appeal to his team mates to instill a fighting spirit in the squad which will make opposition fear a match against the Gunners

Arsene Wenger and the board have faced a considerable amount of flak from the Arsenal supporters for earning the tag of a ‘selling club’, after seeing many of their former stars leave the club in search of bigger ambitions. One player who has seen all these departures through his time at the club is Walcott, who made the move to the Emirates Stadium as an exciting prospect from Southampton.

However, the club chief executive has claimed that times are gone where Arsenal had to sell to buy players, and assured Wenger will be given surplus transfer funds to bring players in which the manager believed. This came as exciting news for the supporters, but Wenger is taking his time to ensure the reported £70 million war chest given to him is spent wisely and not just on one player.

The club’s interest in Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic has been clear, but the asking price of £25 million has seemed to put off the club officials. Jovetic has made his intentions of a move clear, but the Italian outfit have come out and declared the asking price, and will try and squeeze the highest fee plus add ons possible.

Walcott had taken up the mantle of the main forward at the club after van Persie’s departure, and performed exceptionally this past season. The England international managed to net 14 goals in 32 appearances for the club, and repaid the faith shown by Wenger in him.

According to SkySports, Walcott appealed to his team mates and said, “It is quite frustrating at times, because we should have done that at the start of the season,”

“Who knows where we would have been.”

“We need to remember those moments that we had and make sure we do it from the start, because we could be challenging for anything. We could beat anyone.”

“We want that sort of fear factor, especially at the Emirates.”
