Rumors that Carlos Vela will be returning to Arsenal have caused quite a stir among Gooners who are still waiting to see a big name coming next to Giroud for next season. The Mexican international seems a cheap alternative to any other player out there. Up until now, Wenger has failed to place a bid on any player and has got fans a little worried. Last year’s transfer period ended unexpectedly with Ozil coming to the Emirates. It seemed a bit unplanned and it looked more like a lucky move for the French manager who was never keen on spending big. Despite having a £100million transfer budget, none of the players linked to Arsenal seem to want to come to North London.

Even though Vela had a great season with Sociedad, he is still the same player who never managed to adapt to Premier League football. He spent a lot of time at the Emirates and barely made his presence felt. According to Metro, re-signing Vela might also have its good parts. He is currently valued at £20 million but Arsenal can get him for £3 million due to the buy-back clause in the contract. He is also somewhat acquainted to English football and some of Arsenal’s current players. He is fast which is what the Gunners need considering Giroud and Sanogo have a different striker profile.
