Vela Not Keen On Returning To Arsenal

It’s been three years since Carlos Vela left for Spain. He failed to adapt to Premier League football despite being part of a group which was always beneficial for youngsters like the Mexican striker. Arsenal sold Vela to Real Sociedad in 2012 after the player had just returned from his loan deal. He only spent three playing for Wenger. The rest he mostly played for Spanish teams where he seemed most comfortable. Vela is now one of Sociedad’s most important players and according to talkSPORT, returning to Emirates is out of the question.

The Mexican international, who is now 25 could be an excellent solution for Arsenal especially given his new found form. Since moving to Spain, he started to score more and became an important part of the team. The Gunners will have priority if Sociedad decides to sell the forward. Apparently his 2012 contract deal came with a buy-back clause which may allow Wenger to bring Vela back.

It is hard to believe he will return though, especially considering his recent reactions to rumors linking him to Arsenal. Vela explained why he performed so poorly while in the Premier League and insisted that Spanish football is a better fit to his style. He also mentioned the fact that he feels a lot more comfortable playing amongst players with backgrounds similar to his. Vela also pointed out that he never enjoyed English football which makes it close to impossible for Wenger to bring him back.
