Van Persie May Be Up For Grabs During The Summer

Dutch international, Robin Van Persie who spent 8 years scoring for the Gunners is having problems performing under David Moyes’s supervision as pointed out after United’s loss against Olympiakos.

Despite not openly stating that he would like to leave, Van Persie reminded fans that he came to Manchester to work with Ferguson and that he is not that happy with his current status. The 30 year old is not used to being a second choice for a striker and is also unhappy with the fact that his team looks disorganized at times. Most of his comments point to the fact that he is having trouble adapting to David Moyes’s way of coaching.

According to Metro, Arsenal could be the ones to take advantage of this situation as Wenger recently declared the door is always open for a player as great as Van Persie. The Dutchman who almost hit the 200 appearance milestone while at the Emirates could be a great addition to the Frenchman’s team who has grown a lot since the striker left.

One of the reasons for Van Persie’s departure was Arsenal’s lack of trophies. With the trophy drought inevitably coming to an end and with Wenger’s new found openness towards spending big in order to win competitions, Arsenal’s former captain could consider ending his career at the Emirates.

Van Persie could be the last missing piece of the puzzle as the Gunners seem to have got most things covered. A striker to join Giroud up front is all Wenger needs right now to keep up with teams like City and Liverpool.
