Unlucky Saturday for Arsenal

Arsenal failed to bring home their second victory of the season against City. Even though both teams had their moments, it is fair to say that the Gunners should have secured the win. The Citizens only improved their game after an unexpected goal which came out of nowhere. Wenger is on the right path it seems. Both Sanchez and Welbeck looked to fit right in. The Chilean was one of the most impressive players on the pitch. He not only put continuous pressure onto City’s defense but he also helped Monreal who was a bit overwhelmed by his opponents.

The Gunners played a very eye-pleasing game. The transfers made this summer clearly increased the overall speed of the team and also improved the number of chances they get to score. Unfortunately Welbeck has to catch up a bit despite managing a decent performance. Sanchez was brilliant and looked like a true leader even though he just came to London this summer.

The defense could have done better. Both goals conceded by the Gunners could have been avoided if everyone did their jobs. Aguero somehow managed to end up all alone in front of goal just as Demichelis did before sending a header past the post.

It is too bad that Wilshere and Sanchez’s goals could not secure the win. Both were quite impressive. Hopefully Arsenal will continue playing this good throughout the season. All that is left now is for Wenger to sort out the problems the Gunners have to deal with when it comes to the defense.
