United Midfield Target To Join Arsenal

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin, according to journalist Charlie Wyett.

The Sun’s Charlie Wyett, who has broken a number of Arsenal exclusives, told talkSPORT that Schneiderlin is moving to the Gunners.

“I think Morgan Schneiderlin will be joining Arsenal.” he said.

“He would be a good signing along with Petr Cech.”

Schneiderlin recently admitted he longs to play for a Champions League side, and it now looks as if the Saints will have no choice but to sell their star man after the madness last summer which saw the side block the midfielder from moving away. The French international is said to be valued by Southampton at around £25 million, and Arsenal are said to be one of two Premier League clubs interested in the player, with Manchester United also fighting for his signature.

Morgan Schneiderlin has represented his country at every level. France’s under 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 side have all contributed to the midfielder’s development which has lead him to become a regular figure in the first team. The Frenchman played a key role in his side’s 2014 World Cup, and is now considered as on of the countries best.

Signing for Southampton for just £1.2 million in 2008, Schneiderlin has made over 230 appearances for the Saints, scoring 14 goals. Although, it’s his defensive duties that impresses. The former Strasbourg man has proven himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League this season, and it is certainly no secret that his passing ability combined with his almost tireless work rate makes him a valuable asset to any club.
