Unai Emery hints at one more big signing for Arsenal this summer

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has hinted the Gunners could make one more big signing before the start of the new Premier League season.

Emery has had a busy summer already, signing no less than five players as he looks to build a squad that can challenge for the Premier League title next term.

The Spaniard has already completed deals for Bundesliga duo Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Serie A pair Stephan Lichtsteiner and Lucas Torreira, as well as Lorient youngster Mattéo Guendouzi.

However the former PSG and Sevilla boss may not be done there.

When asked about his plans for the remainder of the transfer window, Emery replied: “Normally, in my career the big clubs don’t close the [door] or the moment to sign a new player. Today, we are OK.

“Maybe we can bring in one if there’s a very good possibility for them to help us, but the club has done a great job of signing new players and I am happy.”

He continued: “At the moment, I think the squad is complete. We will only sign another player if there is an opportunity to bring in that one player, or two players. We will only sign a player in the next month if he’s a big opportunity.”

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move of a number of players in the last month, including both Steven N’Zonzi of Sevilla and Barcelona outcast Andre Gomes.

World Cup breakout star Aleksandr Golovin has also been linked with a move to North London after an impressive tournament with host nation Russia.
