Positive #2 – There WAS a Game Plan
While Liverpool have beaten Arsenal 4-0 and Manchester United 5-0 in recent weeks, it must be pointed out that the two defeats cannot be compared on a tactical level.
The Red Devils had no game plan under Solskjaer, demonstrated by their half-hearted press which led to them being demolished. In contrast, Arteta had clearly worked on a strategy, which did work initially, but unravelled once the first goal went in. There is work to be done but it is nowhere near as bad as what happened to United.
