Negative #1 – The Opening Goal
Arsenal had actually done the hard part. They had quietened the Anfield crowd after limiting Liverpool’s chances to barely any in the first 30 minutes.
Some pundits will bang on about Arteta’s confrontation with Jurgen Klopp on the sidelines as the turning point but it was actually the opening goal that should rankle more. The Gunners’ defence simply failed to mark Sadio Mane at a set-piece, which is criminal in such a big game. It will frustrate the coaching staff immensely.
