The game at Anfield was billed as a big test for Mikel Arteta’s revitalised Arsenal team, after ten matches without defeat in all competitions, but they came up well short on Saturday.

Even so, while losing 4-0 to any team should never be dismissed lightly, there are reasons for Gunners supporters to not be too downhearted by the result.

Liverpool are simply the better team at the moment, and this Arsenal side will have to take this chastening loss on the chin, with a group of young players still learning their trade.
