The game at Anfield was billed as a big test for Mikel Arteta’s revitalised Arsenal team, after ten matches without defeat in all competitions, but they came up well short on Saturday.

Even so, while losing 4-0 to any team should never be dismissed lightly, there are reasons for Gunners supporters to not be too downhearted by the result.
