Tottenham Set To Move On Arsenal Winter Target

Arsenal who allegedly placed a £30 million bid for Julian Draxler were denied the transfer during the winter transfer window. Wenger seems to have made the German international a secondary target which might cost the Gunners. Tottenham are set to move in on Draxler and have started with a bid of £17million. Despite being half the money Arsenal offered during the winter Schalke could let Draxler go. The 20 year old insisted he will remain in the Bundesliga for at least one more year but Spurs look determined on signing the youngster who is one of Europe’s most promising players.

According to Metro, Arsenal might consider pushing for a transfer though later on this summer as Cazorla hinted towards a possible move to Atletico. The Spaniard who has a similar profile to that of Draxler might be returning to Spain thus leaving Wenger with yet another empty position to fill.

Draxler who made his World Cup debut against Brazil, has been playing for Schalke since 2011 and already has managed 101 appearances which is quite impressive for a 20 year old. The attacking midfielder could make a great addition to Wenger’s side despite not being a priority in terms of playing positions. Arsenal have a thin squad but have enough solutions as far as the midfield goes. They will be looking to sign one or two new goalkeepers and at least one defender which leaves Draxler fourth or fifth in terms of importance.
