Tottenham Lead Arsenal In January Battle For 29.4M Rated Serie A Ace

Tottenham have edged ahead of Arsenal in the race to snap up Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Swedish international has been touted for a move to the Emirates in recent months but Spurs’s sporting director Fabio Paratici has close connections with Juve, after previously working for them, and that could prove crucial in negotiations.

Kulusevski is reportedly valued at around €35m (£29.4m) and his club are thought to be willing to let him leave next month as they look to raise funds for a bid to sign Sassuolo forward Gianluca Scamacca.

The Gunners were the first English club linked with the 21-year-old, but the interest from their North London rivals has complicated matters.

Whether Kulusevski would have been a priority target for manager Mikel Arteta anyway, it seems debatable. Arsenal could lose Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah and even Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the next six months so you would assume that they would place more importance on signing a new striker.
