Ajax are demanding between €45m (£39m) and €50m (£43m) for centre-back Lisandro Martinez, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Arsenal are believed to have had a €30m (£26m) bid rejected for the Argentinian international, and fans on Twitter are split on whether the Gunners should meet Ajax’s asking price:

I'll say €40 will be much better for the both side, he's a talent to add to the squad not just as a backup but another alternative just like Man City and Liverpool has…

Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in Martinez in recent days so Arsenal may not want to hang around too long before re-entering negotiations with Ajax about securing the defender’s services.
Manager Mikel Arteta is said to be very keen on signing another left-sided centre-half, with Pablo Mari set to leave the club this summer following his loan spell at Udinese.
At the moment, Martinez is the number one option but the gap between the two teams’ valuation of the 24-year-old is quite substantial and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners can reach an agreement to snap up the player.
