Arsenal legend Tony Adams believes his former club will fall short in their attempts to win the Premier League title.

Before Wednesday’s game against Manchester City, the Gunners had a three-point lead at the top of the table but Adams says Mikel Arteta’s side are unlikely to be still in first place by the last day in May:

“I still don’t see them winning the title. I still believe Man City will end up as champions even though they’re doing their best to mess it up.”

There are a lot of matches to play between now and the end of the season so Adams’ pessimistic prediction is somewhat surprising.

Performances in recent weeks have been concerning but, if Arsenal can secure a victory against City, it should help them regain the momentum they have lost.

Arteta’s men have only dropped four points at home all season, although those two draws have come against Newcastle and Brentford in the past six weeks. It will be hoped they can rediscover their best form in upcoming fixtures to keep their title ambitions alive.
