Tierney And Maitland Niles To Start, Kolasinac And Saka On The Bench: Arsenal’s Predicted XI To Face Liverpool

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta does have some decisions to make in the backline ahead of the game against Liverpool on Monday night.

Gabriel is expected to start in the centre of defence, with Rob Holding likely to keep his place ahead of David Luiz. Kieran Tierney is back in contention after a hip problem and he could replace Sead Kolasinac as the left-sided centre-half.

Hector Bellerin is the favourite to start at right wingback, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ excellent display in the Community Shield versus the Reds may see him get the nod ahead of Bukayo Saka on the left flank.

In midfield, Arteta does tend to prefer Granit Xhaka alongside Dani Ceballos in the middle of the park. With Mohamed Elneny having started the Carabao Cup win over Leicester, it would suggest the Egyptian will be on the bench at Anfield.

Up front, Eddie Nketiah continues to make case for himself after scoring in his last two games for the Gunners but, with Alexandre Lacazette in good goalscoring form as well, the Frenchman is expected to be named in the eleven.

Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be given his usual berth on the left-hand-side with Willian cutting in from the opposing flank.

Arsenal’s Predicted XI To Face Liverpool:

Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney, Maitland-Niles, Ceballos, Xhaka, Willian, Lacazette, Aubameyang
