Three reasons why Arsenal fans should be excited for the new season

Arsenal face the prospect of the new season being one of their most historic as they have a very good chance of European glory, as well as a great chance to win the league title if they make the correct moves in the transfer market.

Arsene Wenger has the task of preparing the squad better than last season, as their inability to prepare cost them a top four place and Champions league football and that will not happen again. Signing players early and getting the squad a proper pre-season under their belts will be vital for preparing for the new season.

Here are three reasons for Arsenal fans to get excited for the new season.

European glory

Arsenal failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions league (UCL) yet the silver lining of that could be having a realistic chance of lifting a European trophy, albeit the Europa League. Never the less it is still a European trophy and it also gives the winner of the competition automatic qualification to the UCL. Arsenal will go into the competition as one of the favourites with the likes of AC Milan also in the competition. Arsene Wenger has never won any kind of European title so taking the Europa League seriously could mean a new achievement for the Frenchman.

Player development

Due to the Europa league and the level of the opponents, it could see Arsenal regularly rotate the side between the league and cup competitions. There will be lots of playing time for all of the squad members if this is the case and it could mean some personnel from the youth team break into the first team. The gunners are known for the opportunities they offer young players with the likes of Alex Iwobi and Hector Bellerin breaking out of the youth squad most recently. Player development remains a high priority at the Emirates.

New signings

Arsenal have already been linked to Kylian Mbappe, one of the most exciting young players in the world who is tipped to win the world player of the year award one day. Not only that, they have been heavily linked to Lyon forward, Alexandre Lacazette who would be a great addition to the squad. The reds have already signed Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer and the Bosnian full-back already looks a great deal. New signings will certainly be happening, it is just a matter of time before they are announced.
