Three Potential Transfers That Are Now Off The Table

Due to the fact that Arsenal are in need of reinforcements, transfer rumors are gathering pace. Starting with players like Benzema and ending with youngsters like Vincent Koziello, there are dozens of names thrown out there. Most news is ridiculous – e.g. see the rumor that suggested Messi can move to the Emirates – but some are intriguing and even possible. The problem is that all the current fuss is about this January not about the summer which means options are even narrower and that rumors are even more farfetched. With that in mind it might be best to start eliminating names off a possible Winter transfer list. Here are the first three who have very few chances of joining Arsenal this January:

Riyad Mahrez – Leicester – the 24-year-old winger has of course been linked to Arsenal after Leicester’s wonderful run this season. There is no chance of seeing him at Emirates anytime soon as he just told the press he will stay with his current club at least until the end of the season. To be fair, it is the right way to go both for him and for the club. Regardless of what happens to Leicester, they will have a lot to gain if they keep the same lot until June or even later on.

Jorginho – Napoli – seen as a good solution to cover the midfield, Jorginho is seemingly ready to announce he will be signing a new deal with Napoli. The 23-year-old is now a team regular and is not planning on leaving Italy anytime soon as the Express reported. He already has a deal that expires in three years and he might add another two to that this January.

Nolito – Celta Vigo – the attacker admitted absolutely no contact was made despite rumors saying Barcelona and Arsenal have reached out to him. Nolito who is 29, is very likely to continue with Celta as Arsenal will not move for a player of his age regardless of his form.

For now, the attack is covered and reinforcements are needed elsewhere like the midfield in particular.
