Three Players Who Could Consider Leaving Emirates

Wenger has to handle this winter transfer window carefully as three players might be looking to leave in order to get more on-pitch time. Arsenal already have a thin lot always hit by injury so it would be even more difficult to go through the rest of the season with the players available right now. The biggest problem right now is caused by the European Championship that will take place this summer. Debuchy and Oxlade-Chamberlain are afraid to lose contact with their national team due to the lack of games. The Frenchman was put on the bench by Bellerin and has only made 7 appearances this season. Even though he signed with the Gunners in 2014 and is still under contract until 2019, he is not happy with his current situation. Unexpectedly, Wenger informed the press that his fellow compatriot is free to leave. According to the BBC Arsenal’s boss said that: “Mathieu has an opportunity to go but we have not been in touch with any club” so it is probably a matter of time until the right back says goodbye to Emirates. To be fair, out of the three players who are mentioned in this article, he is probably the one whose departure will hurt Arsenal the least. Bellerin and Chambers during the next season can handle things.

Oxlade-Chamberlain who is also getting further away from his national team is also on the list of players who could miss the European Championship if they don’t get featured in more games in 2016. The good thing about him is that he looks ready to push himself in order to make the cut. That could only mean an improvement in Arsenal’s game. There is a slight issue though, there is tough competition to handle. Not sure if he can actually change much in the couple of months left until the selection is made for the England squad. He will probably have to sit down with Wenger and decide what will happen next. Oxlade-Chamberlain is under contract until 2018, and even though most will not believe this, he is only 22. Losing a jack of all trades such as this youngster would not be good news for the Gunners.

The third player who could leave is David Ospina. Even though he will not be participating in the European competition, he is still unhappy with his current status. Even if Wenger stated that the Colombian is the future for Arsenal, we all know that “future” means the 2019-2020 season at best. Giving him the number one spot in the League Cup may not be enough to keep him around after the end of this season.
