Arsenal’s deflating 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend is certainly not ideal preparation for their Champions League quarter-final tie against Bayern Munich.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side travel to the Allianz Arena knowing that they still have a decent chance of making it through to the next round after the 2-2 draw in the first leg last week.


Bayern have not exactly been that consistent this season and they are not invincible at home either, having lost 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund on their own patch just a couple of weeks ago.
