“This Team Are Capable…” Lee Dixon Makes Bold Prediction About Arsenal’s Title Chances Ahead Of City Clash

Arsenal legend Lee Dixon says he won’t rule out the Gunners going to the Etihad on Wednesday and beating Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta‘s side draw against Southampton has handed the advantage to their title rivals and, while he admits the Citizens are now frontrunners, Dixon is still hopeful that his former club can get back in contention:

“You’ve got to play everyone twice. They had an easier run earlier in the season and this is the tough bit now. This is how you win a title. Man City are obviously favourites now but Arsenal have still got that game at the Etihad and this team are capable of beating Man City, we know that. You would expect City to have a bit too much for them but we’ll see.”

It is important to remind supporters that Arsenal still hold a five-point lead over City and, while Pep Guardiola’s team can leapfrog above them if they win their two games in hand, there are no guarantees that they will secure maximum points from their last eight games.

Of course, there is more pressure on Arteta’s men heading into next week’s top-of-the-table clash. They now know that a draw versus City may not be enough.

As Dixon says, Arsenal also have a tough run-in, so the chances of winning the league have been greatly diminished but you shouldn’t discount them just yet.
