Arsenal and Manchester United have both held initial talks with Gent forward Jonathan David’s agent, according to Het Laatste Nieuws.
The Belgian publication claims the two Premier League sides were involved in “exploratory” discussions with Nick Mavromaras to inquire about how much it would cost to sign the Canadian international.
Most supporters on Twitter think David could be a decent signing:
This is the player we must buy !

He’s all action. He can play CAM, both wings and striker. I love the dude

Arsenal shouldnt be spending more than £20m on anyone except someone with a good track record, not potential

Het Laatste Nieuws claim that Gent were demanding at least €25m (£22m) for the 20-year-old but, with the global health crisis affecting club finances, the valuation could well be lower now.
Were either Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette to leave the Emirates this summer, the Canadian would be a viable replacement.
He has scored 23 goals in 40 appearances this season, and with the player cheaper than the London club’s other reported striker targets, Odsonne Edouard and Moussa Dembele, it is unsurprising that the Gunners have held talks with his agent.
