Arsenal are in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain about signing right-back Thomas Meunier, according to reports in Italy.
The Gunners are said to have offered a five-year contract to the 27-year-old, who has previously worked under Unai Emery.
Fans on Twitter are not convinced that Meunier is a player that Arsenal actually need, while many other supporters are questioning the accuracy of the reports:
This is not our priority. Hector is a good RB and Niles is a good cover. A quality CB should be our priority.

The fact that this doesn’t make any sense makes it believable.

If this is true then its confirms that the “40mil” budget is all lies

One of 3 positions we are adequate, and we’re spending what little money we have on it. Classic Arsenal.

If the club do sign Meunier, it would be a surprise. There have been claims that the player could cost as much £25m which would put a big hole in the club’s transfer budget.
Manchester United are also believed to be interested in the fullback’s services, and it will be interesting to see if the Gunners do in fact beat their Premier League rivals to his signature this summer.
Meunier made 31 appearances for PSG in all competitions last season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists.
