Arsenal’s problems away from the Emirates reared their ugly head once again on Sunday as the Gunners slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Everton.
The loss hasn’t irreparably damaged their chances of finishing in the top four, but their away form could cost them if they don’t turn things around quickly.
One fan on Twitter pointed out that Arsenal have only won two games away from home since the beginning of December:

Fans were quick to respond to the statistic lamenting their team’s awful performances on the road:
This is appalling. Something needs to change ASAP

Apparently Unai doesn’t get it. You can never win anything with players like Mustafi at the back! It’s the defense STUPID

Pathetic, get rid of a large chunk of this average squad in the summer

Just look at the state of this @Arsenal …fix up

Emery has persisted with 8 defensive players every away game. Perfect example of the definition of insanity

Emery’s produced the best he can with what we have. No way Elneny starts if Xhaka or Torriera available. Mustafi playing only due to Holding & Kos injuries. He put a little pressure on the board this week with comments about spending money. I expect real improvement next year.

The Gunners still have away trips to Watford, Napoli, Wolves, Leicester City and Burnley to come before the end of the season. All of them are difficult games, and they could slip down the table if their poor recent away record doesn’t improve substantially.
Of course, there have been some good performances, such as the 1-1 draw against Tottenham, in recent months but they will need to make sure they deliver in terms of results sooner rather than later.
