Arsenal have joined the race to sign Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland, according to reports in the German media. The Norwegian has been heavily linked with Manchester United and Manchester City.
However, it is believed that Haaland’s father, former Leeds and City midfielder Alf Inge Haaland, visited London Colney to assess the facilities ahead of a possible move for his son next summer.
Salzburg are said to be resigned to losing Haaland, but they will reportedly demand as much as £85m for the 19-year-old. Fans on Twitter are sceptical about this rumour:
This has got to be the most unrealistic rumour ??♂️

Pretty reliable source which only means Auba or Laca will be gone in the summer ?
— Pierre (@RaySensei_) November 20, 2019
So it means one of Auba or Laca leave.

Yes please!

I doubt this news

Hope this is true. We could use someone like him. Perfect Plan B type of player initially like Giroud. Would be a certain starter in a year or two when Auba and Laca start declining.

Aubameyang Lacazette Pepe Nketiah Martinelli Tyrece John Jules…why the hell do we need another striker when we are weak in the midfield and defensive area

One possibility is that the Gunners are worried about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The 30-year-old’s contract expires in 2021 and reports suggest he has postponed talks over a new deal.
If that is true then a move for Haaland would make more sense. The Norwegian has had an extraordinary season so far, having scored 26 goals in 18 appearances, including seven in the Champions League.
