Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has told friends he would be open to a move to Arsenal, according to the Daily Telegraph.
This news, if true, will be a big boost to manager Mikel Arteta who is said to be very keen on landing the Ghanaian international. Fans on Twitter are delighted with this latest development:

The fact that Partey would consider a switch to the Emirates, even without the likelihood of Champions League football, indicates there is a great desire on the player’s part to play for the Gunners.
Of course, there is still a significant stumbling block in terms of the transfer fee. Atletico will demand clubs match the 26-year-old’s €50m (£43.5m) release clause.
The inclusion of Alexandre Lacazette in any deal could, though, help smooth negotiations, with the Telegraph claiming that Atletico would be open to a swap deal.
The French striker has, however, since disputed claims in Spain that he has talked to Antoine Griezmann and Koke about a transfer to the Spanish club, but that doesn’t completely rule out a move from happening.
