This Fan Outlines The Four Major Mistakes That Unai Emery Made During His First Season At Arsenal

Unai Emery’s first season at Arsenal was a mixed bag, to say the least. While the Gunners accrued seven more points than they did in Arsene Wenger’s last campaign in charge, they still didn’t qualify for the Champions League.

On top of that, the London club’s defence continued to be a problem with the team conceding 51 goals in the Premier League alone.


Even so, Emery guided Arsenal to the final of the Europa League and showed that the Gunners could compete in the big games against other top-six sides.

What has frustrated fans most, though, is the lack of consistency. The poor away form that plagued Wenger’s last year in charge has continued, with no signs of the defence being strengthened substantially.

The failure to settle on one system also likely played a role in the team’s inability to sustain a challenge for the top four.
