Arsenal are willing to pay €60m (£52m) plus Albert Sambi Lokonga in order to land Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Gunners are said to be prepared to push the boat out to sign the Serbian playmaker, who has been in excellent form in Serie A this season.
Most fans on Twitter would be delighted if Milinkovic-Savic made the switch to the Emirates, although a few are sceptical about the accuracy of the story:
Things I love to see 😭😭

If only we can sign this guy and Mudryk then it's over for everyone in the EPL.

Arsenal’s interest in Milinkovic-Savic was confirmed during the summer, when his agent Mateja Kezman revealed that the player had turned down approaches from Mikel Arteta’s side and Newcastle. Chelsea and Manchester United have also been heavily linked with the 27-year-old.
However, the Gunners are not expected to prioritise a move for an attacking midfielder during the January transfer window. The main objectives will be to find cover for Thomas Partey, as well as looking for a wide forward.
