Thierry Henry Names The Four Players That Have Made Him Believe Arsenal Are Ready To Challenge

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has praised the impact of Gabriel Jesus since his arrival from Manchester City in the summer.

The Brazilian international has had an outstanding start to his Gunners career and Henry believes that (along with Martin Odegaard, William Saliba and Bukayo Saka), Mikel Arteta’s side are capable of challenging for honours:

“I can see a team there, a togetherness, and I like that. Look, the team is different but you’ve got the likes of Gabriel Jesus, William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka… The thing with Jesus is he knows how to win, he has won. He’s bringing that into the team and you can see it. I believe in them. I haven’t believed like this for a very long time, believed that we could do something.”

Henry is right about the togetherness of the whole squad. Arteta looks to have a group of players all pulling in the same direction and that provides a key foundation for success.

Jesus, in particular, seems to be one of the final pieces of the puzzle, with the 25-year-old giving Arsenal a focal point in attack, both on and off the ball.

In terms of the rest of the team, Henry could probably have mentioned a few more players as well, including Gabriel Martinelli and Thomas Partey, that demonstrate the quality in the squad. We shall see if the London club can turn this promising start to the campaign into something more substantial.
