‘The Season Is Dusted Already’ ‘Gutted’ ‘Sad News’ Arsenal Fans On Twitter Respond To Latest Injury Update

Arsenal have confirmed that forward Gabriel Martinelli will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his knee.

The Brazilian has not featured since the Premier League returned and, after he was injured in training last Sunday, it was discovered that he had a lesion in his knee cartilage.

A minor operation was required to fix the issue but it does mean Martinelli will now miss the Gunners’ seven remaining fixtures. Fans on Twitter are frustrated he will be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign:

Fingers crossed that Martinelli is ready and available when pre-season begins for the 2020/21 campaign. The 19-year-old has had an extraordinary first year at the Emirates, having scored 10 goals and contributed four assists since making his debut against Newcastle last August.

It is hoped that the Brazilian will have a big part to play under head coach Mikel Arteta when Arsenal start afresh in a couple of months time when the new season begins.
