“The last time you won a trophy I hadn’t even done my SATS” – Arsenal fans react as Spurs falter in FA Cup

Tottenham had an afternoon to forget yesterday in the FA Cup as they drew 2-2 with League 1 bottom side Rochdale at the Spotland Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side – who had struggled in the previous round against Newport County – were stunned by Keith Hill’s side who earned a well deserved replay at Wembley Stadium for a place in the quarter-finals.

Rochdale took the lead just before the break through Ian Henderson, who finished off a lovely move to send The Dale into half-time with a 1-0 lead.

January signing Lucas Moura levelled the scores for Spurs, opening his account for the club, on 59 minutes, before substitute Harry Kane converted an 88th minute penalty to give the visitors the lead late-on.

A ticket to the quarter-finals was all but in the bag for Spurs, however the Lilywhites were denied a spot in the last eight late on by Rochdale sub Steve Davies, who bagged a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser.

Following the game, Henderson, whose opening goal took his total to the season to 15 in all competitions, said: “We can’t wait to go to Wembley. We always felt we had an opportunity. Stevo is an unbelievable finisher and we deserved that.

“I’ve always dreamed of playing at Wembley and now I can say I’ve played there – if I’m fit and picked.”

And Henderson isn’t the only one happy to see Spurs falter, with the Arsenal fans too enjoying seeing their arch-rivals slip-up at the Spotland Stadium …
