With Arteta likely to go with a 3-4-3 and Guardiola almost certainly choosing a variation of 4-3-3, the Gunners will be outnumbered in the middle of the park.
That means the two players in the middle will need an extremely high work rate. Even though he would have hardly trained with his new teammates, Thomas Partey’s inclusion may well be considered by Arteta. If he isn’t ready, Mohamed Elneny could be selected instead.
