The Financial Implication Of Arsene Wenger’s Exit

Looking forward to Arsenal’s future

Arsene Wenger is arguably the most successful manager in Arsenal football club history. Raking up 17 pieces of silverware in his 22 years at the club is no mean feat. During the invincables season, he led his team to lift the premier league title without losing a single game.

Despite his success at Arsenal in the earlier stages at the club, his later years were marred with controversy and criticism by some sections of the fans in London.

The lack of silverware for almost nine years meant Arsenal couldn’t compete with its rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City for top players in the world. It also meant Arsenal took a back seat to winning the big trophies as well as finishing in the top four to compete for UEFA champions league glory.

Nevertheless, Arsene Wenger has carried Arsenal to a more prosperous financial path most managers wouldn’t have envisioned.

Moving to their current stadium from Highbury took a deep hit in the Arsenal’s management pocket, which meant that Arsene Wenger was once again saddled with the responsibility of competing in the market for players on a shoe string budget.

Players with questionable qualities were bought while players with excellent attributes couldn’t stay because of their desire to earn more, lift trophies and play in the UEFA champions league.

For consecutive seasons, Arsenal fans needed to console themselves with the FA cup wins against Chelsea and Wigan in the previous years.

Now that the stadium debt has been paid and Arsene Wenger is gone, fans of Arsenal football club are hoping to have a breath of air with the new manager Unai Emery.

Unlike Wenger who was a conservative person when it came to Arsenal finances in the transfer market, Emery will look to move away from his predecessor. Wenger was known to price soccer players below what their market value was to bring them to the Emirate stadium. He used the club history and his vibrant personality as a coach to lure Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to the club.

With Arsene Wenger gone and the glory of Arsenal quickly fading away, it will be the job of the new manager to show why they should be taken seriously this season. Unai’s experience managing Sevilla of Spain and Paris Saint-German of France will come in handy if they hope to keep some of their key players and lure in new ones.

It will be the time to lay down a marker and send a message to other teams that they are here to compete as well.

By bringing players that other clubs want, they would have shown their intent for the season.

Here is what he needs to do financially:

Compete in the transfer window

Other teams are aware that Arsenal doesn’t splash the cash when it came to players they want.

Keep Their Key Players

Players who have been instrumental to their success in the past few years should be kept, and their contract renewed. There are always stats to find out who those players who have performed exceptionally n the team.

Do away with dead wood

Players who are on a substantial financial contract with the club but offer little or nothing regarding value to the club should be sold. The resale value will be used to buy better players or bring back loanees who did very well at their clubs and www.cashfloat.co.uk helps to give loans for football.
