Fiorentina have offered €8.5m to sign Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira on a season-long loan, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Viola are also said to want an €18m option to buy the 24-year-old at the end of the upcoming campaign. That would amount to €26.5m or £23.7m, slightly below the reported £26m the Gunners paid for the Uruguayan international two years ago.
Supporters on Twitter believe that Torreira is worth more than Fiorentina are currently offering and they are hoping for competition from other Italian clubs in order to push up the price:
That's too low!

That’s fair enough. About what we paid for him no? But we can get Roma and Torino to up the price

I value him at 40M

Are they joking?

Change the '€' into '£' then that amount is ok

In total 26,5. Not bad considering we payed 32 million for him and he hasn’t played a lot last season.

€18m? Nope!

Torino, Roma and AC Milan have also been mentioned as potential destinations for the Uruguayan and it does seem almost inevitable that the player will be leaving the Emirates before the end of the transfer window.
Torreira has hinted that he will need to leave Arsenal in order to play more regularly and it’s unlikely that head coach Mikel Arteta will stand in his way.
