Arsenal are one of several English teams keeping tabs on Ajax defender Daley Blind, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.
The Gunners are reportedly interested in the former Manchester United defender due to the 29-year-old’s low release clause, and they may consider making an offer for the player in the summer.
Fans on Twitter don’t think a move for Blind would be a good idea:
I swear we just signed Pablo Mari surely this is wrong!

I rate him highly and he is a top player but at 30, nah! Also, he is a bit slow for the premier League too! He is better off staying at Ajax!

Blind seems pretty secure at Ajax, why would he leave now? Also, had a heart related issue lately. Would surprise me if he leaves Ajax.

With Pablo Mari having just joined from Flamengo last month, and William Saliba returning from his loan spell at Saint-Etienne, it is surprising to see the club being linked with yet another centre-back.
Blind’s fitness would also make him an unlikely target. He has been sidelined with a heart condition over the past two months after being diagnosed with heart muscle inflammation which has seen him be given a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator. Even if he does return to first-team action at some point, he would struggle to pass a medical.
