Arsenal only signed David Luiz from Chelsea on Thursday, but with the club’s defensive problems, quite a few Gunners supporters would like manager Unai Emery to start the Brazilian against Newcastle this afternoon.
The 32-year-old has barely had time to meet his new teammates after his transfer was confirmed just a few days ago but fans on Twitter believe it would be the right call to start him at St James’ Park:
Surely he needs to be in the team

Yes. This whole easing players in is utter nonsense.

Better him than Mustafi

He's a professional athlete. I think he can manage to start Sunday after joining the team yesterday! Got to put the petal to the metal from the first matchweek!

It will be interesting to see if Luiz does indeed make his debut today. With Laurent Koscielny having departed the club, and Rob Holding out of action, Emery only has Calum Chambers and Shkodran Mustafi as his other options to partner Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
The game against the Magpies will likely be tricky game to navigate so perhaps Luiz’s selection alongside the Greek international would be the best choice. Supporters won’t have to wait long to see what the manager decides.
