According to reports in Turkey, Galatasaray have signed Lukas Podolski from Arsenal. The fee is believed to be in the region of £1.5m for the German.

The 30-year-old is seen as a player surplus to requirements at Arsenal, and has apparently admitted it is time to move on from the London club in search of more game time.

The German spent the majority of the second half of the season on loan at Inter Milan, a club who have turned down the chance to sign the forward. Now it seems Turkey is his next destination.

According to Turkish newspaper Aksam, Galatasaray will pay Arsenal £1.4m for the forward. A bargain when you think of the quality the player possesses on his day. The newspaper also say that personal terms with the player have been agreed and the move is set to take place sometime either this week or next.

Lukas Podolski has just one year remaining on his £100,000-a-week deal at the Emirates. So it’s no surprise why Wenger has chosen to offload the player.

The German international, who appeared over 120 times for Germany (scoring 48 goals) – played just 60 times for Arsenal in the 3 years he’s spent at the club, netting 19 goals in that time.
