Atletico Madrid are keen to strengthen their squad as they look to retain the La Liga title next season. Reports have suggested that Atletico are interested in bringing back Cazorla to Spain, with him having left Malaga for Arsenal in August 2012.

The two-footed midfielder has been a revelation for the Gunners and has scored 16 goals and provided 19 assists in 69 league matches.

However, the 29-year-old has now told Arsenal that he wants to quit the club in favour of a return to Spain with Atletico Madrid, according to Metro. The Champions League finalists were targeting Cazorla in January but were short of funds to put together a lucrative offer.

Having almost acquired £32 million from the sale of striker Diego Costa to Chelsea, Atletico will now have the cash to target Cazorla. They will reportedly make a concrete offer for the Spanish international after the World Cup.
