Song Might Return To The Premier League

Ex-Gunner, Alex Song has expressed his desire to return to England. His move to Barcelona was not the best choice the Cameroon international made. He only managed 22 appearances since 2012 and he rarely got a chance to play alongside Iniesta, Xavi and Messi. The 26 year old midfielder may be looking to move back to the Premier League even if the offers are not coming from Arsenal.

During the summer, rumors had it that Song was not able to adapt and that a move to Arsenal may occur. Wenger made some statements at the time in which, even though he admitted that the Cameroonian international left an empty spot in the Gunners’ team, he expressed his strong belief that Song will not return to Emirates.

According to Metro, Song is ready to sit down with Barcelona’s managerial team and convince them to let him go. Some rumors say that he might find a place in Moyes’s team but it is hard to believe that Arsenal’s former player will seal the deal with United. The Red Devils just signed Marouane Fellaini. He plays a similar position to that of Song and he is younger than the Cameroonian. Add to that the fact that he has been one of Moyes’s favorites since their collaboration while at Everton and you can imagine how slim the chances for a transfer really are.

Song could get a hand from Wenger who has always been a fan of Song. Unfortunately for the 26 year old midfielder, Arsenal have been playing amazing football this season and seem to have one of the strongest mid sections in the Premier League. Ramsey is showing incredible form, Flamini has put in some excellent performances and Arteta has never disappointed. Arsenal’s manager is sitting on a large budget and his main priority is finding a world class striker that could offer some competition for Giroud who is now the team regular. Song might have to stay another year with Barcelona which means he will get few minutes on the pitch.
