Song Denied The Chance To Return To Emirates

Wenger seems to be a strong supporter of loyalty and dedication towards the club. Despite having the chance to sign two of the best midfielders that have been active in the Premier League in the recent past, he refused to allow Song and Fabregas to return to Emirates. Both were seen as being somewhat more interested in the money than in representing the club. Both left for Barcelona where they failed to become team regulars which eventually got them to part ways with the Catalans. In both cases, coming back to Arsenal was an option. Wenger denied the players that option even if the team was in definite need of a new midfielder to substitute Arteta in case the Spaniard is unavailable.

According to the Daily Mail, Song recently revealed that he turned down important clubs just to come back to the Premier League. Even though he is now playing for West Ham, he sort of hinted towards the fact that Arsenal was his first choice. Unfortunately for him, there was no desire from the club to resign him. It was not because they did not need a player like Song. It was more because of the way the player left. Just as Fabregas, he pushed for a transfer which eventually took place. It is beginning to turn into a fact that forced transfers are not very successful especially when they involve the Gunners, Vermaelen who also joined Barca has been injured most of the time and had little to no chance of playing. The Belgian will probably try and return to Emirates as well, but will be refused by Wenger just as the other two were you would think knowing how stubborn the boss seems to have become.
