Sky Sports Reporter Names The Three Arsenal Players That Could Leave Before Deadline Day

Arsenal will look to offload Sead Kolasinac, Lucas Torreira and Sokratis Papastathopoulos before the transfer window shuts on October 5th, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

It is believed all three players have clubs interested in them. West Ham are keen on Kolasinac, Torreira could make the switch to Torino while Sokratis is being targeted by Napoli.

Sheth says that not only would the departures of the trio increase the Gunners’ transfer kitty, it would also free up spaces in the first-team squad to sign more non-homegrown players:

“If Arsenal can release Torreira, Sokratis and Kolasinac, then they would not only bring in funds to help out Mikel Arteta in the transfer market, but then they would have 15 non-homegrown players over the age of 21 on their books. Now, the maximum you can have in a squad is 17. That would make it easier to bring in the likes of the Icelandic keeper [Runar Alex] Runarsson and perhaps another overseas signing.”

Along with Runarsson, Lyon’s Houssem Aouar is also believed to be in the club’s sights, along with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey so patience from fans may well be needed as Arsenal look to sell off a number of players before they bring in any further signings.

With the season having already started, it’s hardly the ideal time to make such significant changes but, if it ends up with manager Mikel Arteta having a stronger squad, it will all be worth it.
