Aston Villa have made midfielder Douglas Luiz available for £25m, according to reports in the English media.
Steven Gerrard’s side are keen to offload the Brazilian as he has less than a year left on his contract and, as he has been a target for Arsenal in the past, fans on Twitter have been debating whether the Gunners should make a bid for him:
sign asap!!

He is a good footballer but I don’t want him I want a midfielder who can score goals and provide assits at the same time depending like Milnkovic Savic

This feels very much like a typical Arsenal alternative. Been in the mix for a couple of windows now. Not sure on him was he even any good last season?

Before thinking of other mf
Get tielemans please or milinkovic savic— At Iserom (@Char_liee2248) July 7, 2022
It is true that manager Mikel Arteta does need reinforcements in the middle of the park, but Luiz has seemingly fallen down the pecking order in terms of options after first being linked earlier this year.
Leicester’s Youri Tielemans is believed to be the number one priority, but the likes of Lille’s Amadou Onana, Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Napoli’s Fabian Ruiz and Lens’ Seko Fofana have all been mentioned as potential targets more recently than Luiz.
The Brazilian is undoubtedly a talented player but it seems unlikely at the moment that he will end up at the Emirates this summer.
