Should Wenger Rest Key Players In The Champions League And Focus On The League?

The Gunners have a torrid run of fixtures coming up as they face Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton immediately after their second-leg encounter in Munich. The north London side are looking to overturn a 2-0 deficit after Ozil’s poor penalty and Szczesny’s red card allowed Bayern to win at the Emirates for a second consecutive season.

Although the Gunners won at the Allianz Arena by the same score-line last season, old boss George Graham believes their task is impossible this time around and has called on Wenger to rest key players so that they can focus all their attention on the Premier League title race.

According to the Daily Mail, Graham said, “One of the questions facing Arsene is whether they play their best team and try to win the tie, which is near impossible, or concentrate on the league.”

He added, “Personally I’d play a weakened team because I think the second half of the first leg was like a practice match for Bayern. It took a lot out of Arsenal and they have some very tough games coming up. They need fresh legs and fresh minds. This is one of the big decisions managers have to make.”

Do you think Arsenal can overturn a 2-0 deficit against Bayern, who are unbeaten in 47 league matches, or should they focus all their attention on the domestic front?
